How to Put iPhone 15 Pro Max into iTunes (Recovery Mode) – Step-by-Step Guide
If your iPhone 15 Pro Max is frozen, stuck on the Apple logo, or requires a fresh restore, you may need to enter Recovery Mode. Follow this step-by-step guide to restore your device using a computer.
???? Step 1: Update Your Computer
✔ Mac Users: Ensure your macOS is up to date.
✔ Windows Users: Install or update iTunes to the latest version.
???? Step 2: Connect iPhone 15 Pro Max to the Computer
✔ Use a USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning cable (depending on your model).
✔ If iTunes (Windows/macOS Mojave and earlier) or Finder (macOS Catalina or later) doesn’t open automatically, open it manually.
???? Step 3: Enter Recovery Mode
1️⃣ Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
2️⃣ Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
3️⃣ Press and hold the Side (Power) button until the Recovery Mode screen appears (showing a cable and computer icon).
⚠️ Important: Do not release the Side button when you see the Apple logo—keep holding it until you see the Recovery Mode screen.
???? Step 4: Locate Your iPhone in iTunes or Finder
✔ Mac (macOS Catalina or later): Open Finder and select your iPhone.
✔ Windows or macOS Mojave & earlier: Open iTunes and find your iPhone.
???? Step 5: Choose "Update" or "Restore"
???? Update – Reinstalls iOS without erasing data.
????️ Restore – Erases everything and installs a fresh version of iOS.
- If updating doesn't fix the issue, repeat the process and select Restore instead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
???? Exiting Recovery Mode (Without Restoring)
✔ If you change your mind and want to exit Recovery Mode, press and hold the Side button until your iPhone restarts normally.
???? Additional Troubleshooting
✔ DFU Mode – If Recovery Mode doesn’t work, try DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode, which allows a deeper restore.
✔ Still Not Working? – Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store.
